Kitselas’ Head Start preschool

Kitselas’ Head Start is a fully licensed preschool is managed by the Kitselas Health Department. The Head Start philosophy focuses on what is best for small children – playing! The program is guided by the Tsimshian calendar and the six components of Aboriginal Head Start.

This FREE program runs from September to June.

Through a variety of fun activities, the program offers children ages 3-6  years old, living on-reserve, the opportunity to utilize their intellectual and creative abilities.

In addition to the facility manager, Kitselas Head Start employs one licensed Early Childhood Educator. The Kitselas Bus Driver, who has a Class 2 Drivers License, also helps, as required, during program activities and outings.
